Future Plans

After reading Iris's take on Eat, Pray, Love, I can't wait to see this film. I also agree that Iris and I should visit Italia, Bali, and India. To that list I would also like to add Ireland, Spain, Poland, and Austria. Ireland, because that is the family from which most my family hails, Spain because after spending three weeks there after fifth grade I was addicted, Poland because Iris and I both have family from there, and Austria just because it's awesome.
Iris isn't the only one who's been watching inspirational films. After an inspiring round of Boondock Saints 1&2, Top Gun, Fast & Furious, and Gone in 60 Seconds I have decided to A.) go back to my Irish roots, B.) improve my shooting skills, and C.) look into learning mechanics because, let's face it, college degrees are a dime a dozen while well trained car mechanics/AC repairmen/plumbers/etc. are becoming rare, and the people that are going into these professions are making bank. Weird jump perhaps, but it makes sense to me. ;)
I find it amusing that in this day in age when parents are urging their children to go to college, and everyone and their mother has a masters degree, the people without the degrees are the one making the most money straight out of schooling. I've seen people with degrees from good, well known, private universities work retail for over a year post-graduation. Meanwhile kids are going through the local community college and learning how to fix heating and cooling systems, or working as a certified mechanic at a dealership and pulling in about 60K a year.
Not only do they make more, but, let's face it, guys dig chicks as grease monkeys. As a greaser we can get tattoos, piercings, curse, etc. We don't have to spend a couple hundred dollars per suit and we get to hang out with gruff, manly men all day long. I don't know about the rest of ya, but that sounds like heaven to me.
However, my dreams of becoming like Megan Fox in the second Transformer movie must be put aside for the moment while I go and work on my Psych homework.
Ciao our loyal readers. Until we write again.

Iris and her opinion about the movie Eat, Pray, Love.

Hello Hello Hello I realize it has been awhile since I Iris have written to all you fine people reading this blog. I have no really good reason except Ive been busy and simply have had nothing on mind thats worth writing about. But now I do so I shall write a quick opinion about the last movie I saw which was awhile ago but until now I have not had the time to write my thoughts on it, so here goes! The last movie I saw was Eat, Pray, Love with the outstanding Julia Roberts. This movie is based on a true story about one womans journy to find herself and to let go of her day to day life for a year. Over this year she Visits Rome, India, and Bali all places Id like to see and Im sure Sam will be at my side. Anyways I thought this movie was inspirational to all women who need to find themselves and to get away from the stress of life. Julia Roberts in my opinion was awesome! The soundtrack to this movie was full of music that really captured what was going on. I think this movie is going to be another girls night in fav for me and Sam and I hope she will like it as much as I did. This movie was so inspirational it made me want to take up meditation or yoga anything that allows me to be in a quiet place for awhile to clear my head. I think this movie really showed me that when life seems to be getting you down and you start to freak out its good to get away to experience new things to help clean out all the bad. It showed you how much you could learn about yourself in just one year. youll meet all kinds of people, see all kinds of things, and just let it all go.

Party Timeee

Ah college life. Full of studying, flirting, and partying. The first topic is boring, the second is awkward because I'm about 80% positive that my mother reads this, so I will go with lovely number three. What is college without a party?
I was lucky enough to start off college with a party on Friday and Saturday thanks to a friend with connections. There's nothing better than watching little freshies trying to be cool, asking for a shot, only to cough and sputter and say how much they just LOVE vodka. Silly kids, vodka is for the experienced.
I was also able to hear my roommates story on her first experience with booze. Flavored rum, Southern Comfort, flavored vodka, and scotch and (shocker) none were to her liking. What is it with college kids these days?? Does no one know how to break in an inexperienced drinker? Yeesh. You always start with light stuff like Mike's Lemonade or Smirnoff Ice, not whiskey and vodka. I gave Iris her first taste of alcohol ala Creme de Cocoa. Even with that sweet, syrupy tastiness, Iris sputtered and called it "gross".
But back to the parties. Friday night consisted of beer, a bottle of vodka, pong, and RockBand contained within a dorm, while Saturday's party took place at three neighboring apartments. In apartment one we had beer, beerpong, and was packed to bursting upon arrival. Apartment two was fairly empty, but filled quickly once three bottles and a handle showed up, along with a laptop full of the best jams LimeWire can find. Apartment three released a cloud of smoke every time the door opened, along with a glaze-eyed partier. Basic equation for a good time by college standards.
Sad to say the highlights of the night consisted of aiding a vomiting freshman that outdid herself, two guys that asked if I was with someone, and finding a totally sober ride home from a local sorority. Sad, I know. Let's just hope I do better in the (near) future. I was SO looking forward to telling you all about crazy, funny parties and stories of ridiculous drunks. All I experienced was super hot twin brothers who were interested in exactly no one (but whom all the girls stripped down with their eyes upon sighting) and a couple of drunk stoners.
So for now I bid you all adieu, and hope to come back next time with delightful drunken dramas.
-Sam
